Any game we beat Texas is high on my list, but having moved away from Dallas in 1987 I also enjoyed opening Ford Stadium by beating Kansas in some ridiculous heat. Beating Houston on Homecoming Day after they put 95 points up on our seniors earlier in their careers was pretty special.

Yes, that was a great game. Looking at this video, I love the reaction of the UT bench.

To me, virtually all the pre-DP games > post-DP games. Having said that, watching SMU defeat Tulane @ Ford and earn its 1st bowl bid in ages was very emotional for me.

Biggest shot to the gut was the Jim McMahon miracle pass.

Ah yes I was at that game in the Holiday Bowl. What a heartbreaker. Top 20 team nonetheless, but with a win would have been Top 10.

This is the "positive" thread. We could start another thread on biggest disappointments and it might rival the burger wars thread before all is said and done!

During that Aggie game was one other bonus moment. When our fans messed up the Aggie Block T halftime show. We had a bunch of folks all over the stadium with whistles and when they got in the middle of that formation, we started blowing them. They started bumping into each other, sections moving in the wrong direction, and then the music stopped and they were in a lopsided "y". It was classic.

I am newer. So my favorite moment was going for 2 and the win against Navy in 2018. Best moment ever.

The “Cincinnati slow clap”

LB, Nick Moore glory days. 6 man roster, last few minutes of the game at Moody, team completely exhausted, slowly walking to mid court out of the timeout...

And the applause began.

Slow at first. It picked up. Louder. Louder. LOUDER.

Then the cheering!

It was amazing.

I believe LB said it was one of the most special moments he’s ever seen...

Enough said!

Terry Webster wrote:There are a bunch. I seem to recall the game against a$m where Jim Hagle (?) had the 97 yard run up the middle for a touchdown. I believe that was a big win at the Cotton Bowl. Recently, the 4th and 25 yard pass a couple years back in OT to beat Cinci up here was pretty amazing.

You may be thinking about the 1965 game against Texas, Jim Hagle ran up the middle from scrimmage for a 93-yard TD. Ponies won 34-14.

Beating UTEP in 2009 was big. After a see-saw battle, we had a slim lead late in the game. But UTEP was driving toward a touchdown. The game ended with a fourth down sack of the QB by Taylor Thompson at the 20 yard line. Final score 35-31. That win put us in a bowl game for the first time since the DP.

smu drive: 4 plays 80 yards, 00:23 smu td, 0:23
28 27 SMU wins.

The entire drive was a miracle, 80 yards in 23 seconds to win the game.

That was a great game and great moment. I was there, too.
