I think it has to go to Eddie Garcia. Would love to hear some other names.

The late Chipper Johnson did well for my era but things certainly were upgraded after our time.

Thomas Morestad. Not even close. Both Kick off and FGs. Was clutch.

Garcia missed too many FG and loved to kick the ball out of bounds causing the defence all knds of unnecessary heartburn.

And Morestead was an extra defensive body out there. Beast.

Russell Anderson was a pretty good kicker from 1990-1993.

55-56 on XPs.

He can't help it that in 1991 he only had 9 extra points - I think we only scored 9 TDs that year!

Pretty accurate on Field Goals and I think he was recognized as all conference one of those years.

In fact - Anderson's FG% was same as Eddie Garcia's and his PAT% was better. Imagine if he had the chance to play on the early 80s teams rather than the early 90s...

Thomas Morstead...not even close.
Dennis Partee...if for nothing else, hitting the game-winning FG against Baylor.

And also hit the winning field goal in the final minute I think, against Texas in 1966 to win 13 - 12.

That was 2 clutch kicks to win the SWC Championship in 66.

San Diego Chargers 1968 - 1975.

From my failing memory I recall Doak Walker holding the Cotton Bowl record punt at 86 yards and Kyle Rote at 82 yards. Danny Thomas had an 89 yard kick in the Cotton Bowl in 1963 a year when he led the NCAA with a 47.6 yard average with more than 50 punts. Shortly after Thomas departed Denis Partee arrived and continued a great kicking legacy. Denis used a soccer style side step leg swing style punt that had him around 45 yards per kick for his career plus he also did field goals, kick offs and extra points. Truly versatile. In fact, Partee went on to enjoy a very long career with the San Diego Chargers handing kick offs, field goals, extra point and punts for a career lasting roughly 14 years before being relegated to punter only for the last 4 years.
