Granson, Roberson, Jr. Named To Biletnikoff Watch List

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (TQCF/SMU) – Mustangs Kylen Granson and Reggie Roberson, Jr. were named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List, which recognizes college football's outstanding receiver at any position, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced today.

SMU is one of only six FBS teams with multiple players recognized, joining LSU, Alabama, USC, North Carolina and Purdue.

A 2019 American Athletic Conference second-team selection, Granson registered 43 receptions for 721 yards last season and set SMU's record for receiving touchdowns by a tight end with nine.

Granson has already collected an extensive list of preseason accolades for 2020, including Dave Campbell's Texas football All-Texas Team honors, as well as all-AAC honors from Phil Steel's Magazine, College Football News and Athlon Sports.

This is the second consecutive season Roberson Jr. has picked up Biletnikoff Watch List honors. The senior started the first eight games of 2019 before being sidelined with an injury. He finished second on the team with 43 receptions for 803 yards and added six touchdowns. Roberson Jr. currently ranks seventh among FBS active career leaders in yards per catch at 16.2.

Roberson Jr. was named a 2020 preseason third-team All-America selection by Phil Steele's Magazine, as well as a first-team all-AAC honoree. He's also been honored as the best wide receiver in Texas by Dave Campbell's Texas Football and a preseason all-conference selection by Dave Campbell and Athlon Sports.

The 2020 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented the Biletnikoff Award trophy by TQC Foundation Chairman George Avant, Jr., keynoter and college hall of famer Chad Hennings, and college and pro football hall of famer Fred Biletnikoff before 550 patrons at the Biletnikoff Award Banquet at the University Center Club at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
