From an e-mail sent out by SMU athletics:

Below are a number of announcements regarding changes being made in advance of the 2020 football season to enhance the experience for our donors and season ticket holders, as well as updates to the seating plan for the upcoming season.

New Ticketing System

We are excited to announce that we are transitioning to a new ticket services provider, Paciolan – the number one ticketing provider in college athletics. Our new platform will allow us to deliver an enhanced fan experience, personalized service and contactless entry.

Please activate your account in the new system which will be your one-stop source for purchasing or managing tickets to SMU Athletics events.

You only need to activate your account once, so please let us know if you receive this as a duplicate message.

Digital Ticketing

In an effort to prioritize the health and safety of our fans, SMU Athletics will transition to a 100% digital ticketing and parking initiative for all ticketed events beginning with the 2020 football season. This new digital ticketing process will also reduce ticket fraud and loss of tickets, making for a more seamless venue-entry experience. Will call and mailing tickets will still be available for an additional fee.

Instructions for retrieving your digital tickets will be provided in future communications.

Ford Stadium Capacity for 2020

As preparations for the 2020 season roll on, SMU Athletics is developing a ticketing and seating plan for a socially-distanced Gerald J. Ford Stadium that adheres to local and state guidelines. We expect that capacity will be reduced for a least a portion of the home season and that seating accommodations from previous years will need to be altered in an effort to promote and protect the health and safety of our fans.

First and foremost, all 2019 and 2020 season ticket holders, regardless of current renewal status, will have first right of refusal on their same seats for the 2021 season. Additionally, all 2020 football season ticket holders who have renewed by August 1st, will be eligible to participate in a seat-selection process for the 2020 season in a socially-distanced Gerald J. Ford Stadium. The seat-selection process will take place in mid-August and will be based on Mustang Club Priority ranking.

At this time, we anticipate only being able to provide ticket accommodations to season ticket holders, students, faculty and staff. Renewing or purchasing new season tickets by August 1st is required to participate in the seat-selection process. Any fans who wish to purchase tickets after the seat-selection process would choose from remaining inventory, should any exist.

For fans who have already renewed or purchased season tickets, more communication will be coming soon. If for any reason you decide you no longer wish to purchase season tickets for the 2020 season, please contact your Mustang Club or Ticket Sales representative to discuss available options.

The 2020 slate is one fans will not want to miss, as home games against AAC Champion Memphis, AAC East Division Champion Cincinnati and in-state rivals Houston and TCU highlight the schedule.

Season ticket sales and renewals are available by calling the SMU Ticket Sales Office at (214) SMU-GAME (768-4263).

Thank you for supporting your SMU Mustangs!
