Yep. America brought this on ourselves, refusing to lockdown long enough and follow safety guidelines. Should surprise no one.

Sources report that PAC 12 has also notified staff that fall 2020 games are off. It is the end for football this calendar year. We'll see if they try to do it in the spring.

Rumor mill says SEC is trying to go forward in the fall and is pressing for ACC and Big XII to do the same.

I hate it when the grown ups argue. Maybe the NCAA won't survive this and something new is born from the ashes.

35 straight has got the right attitude. Get to play some of the people we should be playing in post season. If the others quit maybe we can get more exposure on bigger tv networks. We can play some fun football. And now with some D- upgrades... this could be fun. Life always has problems but Americans fight through problems. Or they have in the past. Don't really know what clothe a lot of young people are cut from.

Complete lockdowns aren't necessary. The numbers in Texas now are showing that mask use, responsible behavior, and limiting indoors activities around other people are enough.

All that said, I will submit that IF a university is taking the appropriate safety measures, and the kids are holding each other responsible for not engaging in irresponsible activity, the players have much higher odds of catching the virus through non-football activities than with football.

Basically, if the University is doing what SMU is doing, and you take away football, the risk of a player catching the virus does not decrease appreciably.

The challenge, of course, is that it requires other teams SMU plays to be as responsible as SMU.

Or at least get a home and home with Nebraska, seeing as they are intent on playing even without the B1G.

In fairness to the Big 10 players they should be able to enter the Transfer Portal immediately and play this fall for their new team.
