SMU receives votes in preseason AP poll

SMU was one of 21 teams receiving votes in the preseason Associated Press preseason top 25 rankings. Two American Athletic Conference teams cracked the top 25: Cincinnati was voted No. 20, one spot ahead of No. 21 Central Florida. Memphis and Navy also received votes, as did TCU.
