RB Ulysses Bentley

First he may possess the most SMU-sounding name ever.

REALLY enjoyed hist burst of speed and his ability to juke around defenders. We have not had that with an RB in quite a while. Is he durable? Can't quite tell. He obviously went out a couple times with leg/foot/ankle issues when we could have used him. He's a very nice changeup to the head-down slow-footed no-cutback McDaniel. Didn't get to see the third string quite yet except for one play. RB is a total point of concern this season.

Tyler Levine will be back for NTS, they don't trust Williams.

Agree. Huge Bentley fan - he seems like we should just declare him the starter. Durability matters though - more for RB than any other position.

Bentley dealt with some cramps Saturday, as did several players on both teams, which wasn't entirely unexpected considering how hot and muggy it was on the field and the modified offseason and preseason camps that teams had.

Really impressed with Bentley - but he has to get his conditioning in order. He came back after the first cramping issue and nearly lost a fumble.

I thought McDaniel did a good job, but agree with everyone else, Bentley healthy is the better back. Both healthy is a stout combination.

People are playing their way into shape at lots of positions. I would hope that's not an issue.

I don’t know that Bentley is the better back. I do like what I saw though. Very talented kid.

TJ McDaniels ran for 130 yards on 27 carries; apart from the goal-line fumble, he looked pretty good to me. I've seen our offensive line play a lot better than they did in the first half of Saturday's game.

All good points. I do not fear production from this position. And as written above.... Smu and a Bentley go together.

227 yards on 16 carries and 3 TDs

Certainly hope he gets 65-70% of the carries moving forward. He should be the primary with McDaniel and Lavine as a change of pace back.

If he gets past the defensive line, Bentley is flat-out scary.

He was the player of the game last night as far as I am concerned. Tacklers should get out of his way.

That was fun to watch. We have two or three good running backs. But, UB4 is awesome to watch.
