I was tending bar at The Stables the night he fought Frazier. Many of us got pretty toasted by fight time which unfortunately did not last long once it began. RIP.

Thank you for that. I had never seen that article before. My memory thought the fight only lasted 2 rounds rather than into the fourth, but I do recall him being battered badly. I also did not realize we graduated together.

Here’s the fight

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv7W788Y95Q

He was 28-4-1 at the time and ranked #9 in the world, that’s impressive.

He ended his career 35-30-1, including a loss to Floyd Patterson.

DMN says he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in the early ‘90s, when he was still in his ‘40s, that’s sad.

Sad. I always made it a point to watch Terry. His sport wasn't kind to his health. After that Frazier fight it looks as though he didn't have a winning record.

Picked up my future wife's older sister at the Stables. Never saw her again until an engagement party ten year later, "Haven't I met you before?"

"Oh, @#@#&"!

Stayed our secret for almost 40 years.

Hahahaha. I’d be interested in how you approached that conversation, Mex.

Well, we never talked about it until both of us were divorced, even then I politely pretended to have no memory...She may have been in your class. I was with Portillo the night of the 'incident" at the Stables, although Bruce and I didn't know one another well until a few years later.

That my friend is my story and I'm sticking to it!
