Roberson, Jr., Named Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player Of The Week
Buechele Makes Honorable Mention List

TYLER, Texas (SMU) – Reggie Roberson, Jr., was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week, while Shane Buechele made the Honorable Mention List, SPORTyler and the Tyler Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday.

Roberson, Jr., had five receptions for 243 yards and two TDs in Saturday's win over No. 25/24 Memphis for the third best single-game receiving total in program history.

The senior now has nine 100-yard games and four multi-TD games for his career, and his 17 touchdowns place him tied for eighth on SMU's program list. The 70- and 85-yard catches were his fifth and sixth of at least 50 yards as a Mustang.

Roberson, Jr., was also named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Buechele threw for a career-high 474 yards in Saturday's win, on 32-for-46 passing with three TDs. The 474 passing yards were the third most in a game at SMU, while his 501 yards of total offense were second for a Mustang.

The game was Buechele's eighth career 300-yard game as a Mustang (10th overall) and fourth 400-yard game. He has thrown multiple TD passes in 14 of the past 16 games, and the 70- and 85-yard touchdown passes to Roberson, Jr., were his eighth and ninth 50-plus TD passes at SMU.

Buechele was also named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week, a Manning Award Star of the Week and to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 List.

The No. 18 Mustangs return to action Friday, Oct. 16 against Tulane at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Roberson's performance on Saturday with only five catches was absolutely epic. Hasn't been emphasized enough. What would he have done if he had another quarter and a half out there? 300+ receiving yards? 3 or even 4 touchdowns?

Pretty sure he was on his way to the house when his knee gave out. Surely he would have had a 300+ yd game.

That’s true. At least 20 more yards.
