I normally do this on Monday, but, the game is on Friday this week.

The good new for us is Tulane's biggest issue, arguably, is their secondary, which means we have the opportunity to feast if we play to our potential. That, and I'm not real sure about their QB play. We have to be able to stop their run game, however, so here's the LB's chance to step up and make plays, especially McBride and Moore, if he plays.

Highlights from Tulane at Houston. After Houston shook off the rust, pretty dang capable of beating a lot of teams.

SMU 42 Tulane 34

35-28 SMU. With Roberson and McDaniel out (probably for the season), I think it's going to be a knife fight and the defense gets a last stand hold for the win.

44-31, good guys.

45-17. Gray and Rice show out.

Both defenses are not great, but Ponies make a few more stops.

With the further incorporation of another experienced D-lineman into the lineup the defense begins to gel. Offense is clicking on all cylinders.

Not having the guy that almost had 300 yards on 5 catches is big. I think not having Reggie costs us 1-2 games. We all saw that even though UBIV is the flashier back, we need McDaniel to set the pace.

In addition to my prediction, it looks like Tulane will be very focused on rushing which is a bit of an issue for our defense. Hopefully our defense can cheat a bit given they have two QBs throwing under 50% completion percentage. I think it will come down to our WRs being able to step up and the defense getting through their lines to stop the run. Thoughts?

The return of Mike Williams will be huge (probably our best DL in quite awhile) as well as the continued improvement of Junior Aho and DeVerne Levelston - our DL will get better each week
