AP Top 25 #18 SMU - Week 10

As predicted, we are #18 and seems somewhat deserve after we bounced back convincingly (despite the questionable letting up with 12 minutes in the 4th quarter) as it was 51-17 in the 4th quarter.

In my last prediction, I think we beat Temple, assuming no pandemic proportions of pass dropping, and move up to #17 (maybe 16 if we have the epic amount of losses like yesterday).

I'm beyond disgusted that UNC losing to a 1-4 Virgina team is allowed to be in Top 25. Tulsa with their sad showing against ECU kept them out. I think if they win against Navy (alot of good footage for the team to prepare with), they will get to #25 which then gives us a #17 vs #25 match up.

Tulsa very dangerous team. Their QB wouldn't start at SMU but he is fully capable leading them to a victory when we play.

While I've pretty much lost faith in Sagarin's ratings, being that they are enormously slanted toward P5 teams, it is interesting to note that Tulsa is ranked one point higher than we are.

So when was the last time SMU was ranked ahead of Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan and Auburn? I haven't included Southern Cal because I have no time for teams who haven't played a game being ranked at this stage of the season.

Tulsa and Houston, no matter what their records are,
would be the games I am most worried about.

Possibly 1984. Definitely 1982.

I bet we drop a place or two. Just due to bias.

I fully expect OU will pass us and I would not be surprised to see Texas and/or USC pass us as well. If they don't, they will be lined up right behind us. I'm still not convinced this SMU team is one of the 25 best in college football, but I will continue to enjoy being ranked as one.

We keep winning games and we’ll fall out of the Top 25.

Even with its rotation of backup quarterbacks, Temple would beat Kansas. No way we should have dropped.
