Compared with 3-4 years ago our defense is in a better place. And, it holds this team back compared with the offense and special teams.

What are all your assessments on our progression?

What are your reactions to the DMN piece on/with Kane? https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/smu-m ... s-defense/

Does anyone else that watches these games every week come close to making the same assessment that Kane does: Denbow is their best defensive player? Anyone else concerned that Kane thinks that?

More concerned he heaps praise on the secondary. It doesn't bother me (as much) when the opposing quarterback threads the needle and hits a receiver in stride. I hate it when no defensive back is within 15 yards and then whiffs on the tackle. The overwhelming majority of completions against us seem to be in the latter category.

Agreed. Our secondary is our problem. Every QB is having a field day against us as will Tulsa, Houston and EC.

I'm not concerned at all about what Kane said. We aren't getting out athleted for the most part. We are blowing reads and blowing coverages. The talent level in the secondary is a significant step forward.

Kane, Curtis and Haverty need to coach 'em up.
