Temple thoughts

- Our o-line is the difference between SMU having an elite offense and a very good offense. The slow start was purely due to the o-line not getting a push at the beginning of the game. It is great to be able to wear a lesser team down and explode in the second half, but at some point we need to have a higher level offensive line to turn those 1 yard gains on first down into a 3 yard run, even in the first quarter.
- Awesome job by the coaching staff moving players around with the injuries. At some point, we are going to want to get our best 5 linemen on the field, I and I kind of wonder if that isn't Ali-Osborne-Howerton-Ervin-Thomas. Ali didn't do bad at all out at tackle.
- Page continues that Beasley, Quinn tradition of good slot receivers. Really stepping up.
- The d-line is starting to grow into its own. We need more at DE, but we have some really good DT and that is going to be one of the best, deepest positions in conference next year.
- Denbow had his best game. Starting to read plays a lot quicker.
- We have zero depth at LB outside of Hailey. Cam Jones did some okay things backing up Denbow, so possibilities at that spot at least.
- Safety is improving. I thought Taylor came in for the first time this week and looked the part. That crew is going to be awesome when they get experience. The athleticism is there.

Don't overlook Jimmy Phillips at linebacker. Limited sample size, but I think there's a real player there.

He has been showing up more and more. Playing more of that Stang role.

He has added what, 20 pounds? Still lanky, but he looks like a legit college linebacker now. His potential is legit.
