If Shane is on target, our receivers make the routine catches and our defense has a clue, we win big.

However, if Shane is off, the receivers have the drops, and we play our base defense (a 3 man line and, to compensate for the quarterback having extra time, we make sure the secondary stays at least 10 yards away from any receiver) we blow it.

Optimistically; Mustangs of SMU 56, the mythical state of East Carolina 17.

If we score >30, we win like 56-45. If we score under 30, we lose 45-21.

What’s with this new M O, losing late season? 18 & 19 lost 3 of last 5....coaching, conditioning, injuries? What gives?!?

I predicted EC winning 42-27. I was pretty close on the spread.

Lack of depth.

We have a few diamonds on the team and sadly they go down too quickly. Roberson is the engine of the offense and right now we are just limping along every game. The staff have to make it a priority to get at least 2 burners/deep threat WRs on the team to make us effective. This allows our Mid-Qual WRs to get open and allows for an effective running game. Take that away the deep threat and the other teams secondary can play tight to where it negates our running game and our Mid-qual receivers can't do anything.

So what's more likely: getting a major step forward from the likes of Calvin Wiggins and Keke Burns, or counting on guys like Goffney and Daniels and Record to come in and contribute right away?
