Except he's already in. Brain cramp — sorry. I need more coffee.
This is what I meant to write:

I guess the question becomes...when will the next former SMU player be inducted and who might that be?
Dickerson was the 10th Mustang to be named to the Hall, joining Matty Bell, Hayden Fry, Jerry LeVias, Gerald Mann, Don Meredith, Ray Morrison, Kyle Rote, Doak Walker and Bobby Wilson.

Gregg certainly should be. Raymond Berry really flourished in the pros and not as much in college. Mike Livingston and Chuck Hixson should be in there. Mike Carter was an All American.

Selection criteria: First and foremost, a player must have received First Team All-America recognition by a selector organization that is recognized by the NCAA and utilized to comprise their consensus All-America teams. A player becomes eligible for consideration by the Foundation’s honors courts 10 years after his final year of intercollegiate football played. While each nominee’s football achievements in college are of prime consideration, his post football record as a citizen is also weighed. He must have proven himself worthy as a citizen, carrying the ideals of football forward into his relations with his community and fellow man. Consideration may also be given for academic honors and whether or not the candidate earned a college degree. Players must have played their last year of intercollegiate football within the last 50 years*. For example, to be eligible for the 2014 ballot, the player must have played his last year in 1964 or thereafter. In addition, players who are playing professionally and coaches who are coaching on the professional level are not eligible until after they retire. https://www.cfbhall.com/about/selection-process/SMU's all time consensus All-Americans: 1 Doak Walker B 3 1947, 1948, 1949 2 Russell Carter DB 1 1983 3 Eric Dickerson RB 1 1982 4 Reggie Dupard RB 1 1985 5 Richard Hightower L 1 1951 6 Louie Kelcher DL 1 1974 7 John Lagrone DL 1 1966 8 Jerry Levias E 1 1968 9 Robert Popelka DB 1 1972 10 Kyle Rote B 1 1950 11 John Simmons DB 1 1980 12 Emanuel Tolbert WR 1 1978 13 Jc Wetsel L 1 1935 14 Bobby Wilson B 1 1935 Other All-Americans: Oscar Roan TE 1974 Harvey Armstrong DT 1981 John Stewert K 1993 With that said, I think Russell Carter and Reggie Dupard have the highest chance to get in.
