Remember seeing him help beat Texas A&M 21 - 14 in the Cotton Bowl on the 66 SWC Championship
team.
May the forth be with us.

Wasn't Billy Bob Stewart also a LB then?
Long live Inez Perez!

Yup, he was. We saw him take out 2 Aggies with one block during Jerry Levias’ long 80+ yard punt
return for a touchdown during that 66 A&M game.
May the forth be with us.

Jerry LeVias was a nightmare to many teams that year. Older Aggies here in Navasota fuss about the "black kid from Beaumont" that tore them up that game.

One was a "GA" (before there were GAs) and claimed he never saw a faster guy than LeVias. He said you could "hear him as he cut through the air and ran by the sideline"
stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse

That team made me become an SMU football fan--at this moment I don't know whether to cheer or boo them!
LeVias was one heck of a player and that SMU defense was pretty stout. Jerry sold me my first Lexus, don't know whether to cheer him or boo him either!
