The marketing campaign of coming back to Dallas or staying in Dallas for new recruits has paid huge dividends. Rebranding SMU as THE college team of Dallas is working well and can hopefully continue to catch on.

By far best marketing effort since Mustang Mania.

It goes beyond marketing. We finally have a coach that went out and picked up some stud recruiters that are well connected and able to connect with the Dallas youth. People are still upset about SMU being snotty and elitist, but Samples and company have definitely made inroads in the community.

If you follow Nady on any social media he frequently visits and supports local Dallas establishments in his SMU gear. Every week or so they take players with them too.

they should take the whole team or most members each week to different restaurant and distribute some T-shirts and gear

Absolutely what we needed. Got so tired of wide open receivers last year. We made opponent's 1 star quarterbacks look like Heisman winners. Now maybe more 3 and outs, more coverage sacks, fewer big plays given up. HUGE potential impact. With markedly improved defense we will be feared.
