Gray Selected For Paul Hornung Watch List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LSC/SMU) – Danny Gray was named to the Paul Hornung Watch List, which is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football. The award, which is sponsored by Texas Roadhouse, is given by the Louisville Sports Commission in the memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung.

Gray started all eight games played in 2020, registering 33 receptions for 448 yards and four touchdowns. He also added three carries for 30 yards and a pair of TDs, and ranked second on the team with 684 all-purpose yards.

He was the Mustangs' leading kick returner with nine returns for 180 yards, while adding two punt returns for 26 yards. His 206 combined kick return yards ranked ninth in the American Athletic Conference.

Gray has also been honored by Athlon Sports and Pro Football Focus to open the season.

The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville in March 2022.
