bunch of redneck slack jawed idiots that probably never attended either school or at least you hope that's the case. It's a football game, people! My guess is that a few of them may have been over served

Big shock that the dude wearing a homemade Tech outfit seems to be the main instigator in the fight

Re: Perfect partners for the new "Big 12"
I love it, this is what the new little 12 will look like. Keep it classy there folks…
I have thought about it and I’m more optimistic that we can still create a path to relevancy. The little 8 are living off what OU/UT provided, and while Cincy/UH/UCF think they’re going into a better conference, I think it would have been better to stay at the American and poach the best from the little 8, BYU and MWC, not the other way around. There is no reason why we can’t create a conference that is better than what the new little 12 will look like. Everyone is reactionary but schools need to think strategically.
Let’s bring schools that can draw viewers and create a truly national platform, from coast to coast of the best combination of the remaining schools in our conference and the MWC (plus Rice). We’ll have better ability to capture eyeballs which is what this is about plus we’ll have a profile of schools that are better academically than the new little 12. It’s quite embarrassing that the best academic school out of the little 8 is Baylor.

Did anyone expect anything better from the Sand Aggies and UH fans? Enjoy your new conference boys and girls.

I have heard that Kansas and Iowa State were AAU. I don’t think Baylor is.

Baylor is not AAU. BTW I loved it when the classy women kept the brawl going.SMUstang wrote:I have heard that Kansas and Iowa State were AAU. I don’t think Baylor is.

Re: Perfect partners for the new "Big 12"
While there is a strong correlation to AAU schools also being top academic schools (thus having high rankings), that is not always the case. Many state public schools by default receive federal funding for research, etc, but that doesn’t make their UG programs high ranking as a result. Kansas, A&M, Iowa state are such anomalies.
Having said that the Big 10 prides itself (erroneously so IMO) on having AAU status as if that’s the be-all-end- all criteria. I’m all for pursuing academic schools but some of these are not so much.

USF runs the numbers on why they were left out. It reveals a harsh reality on what the "bean counters" will assess.

This move was dictated in part by Fox and ESPN. They probably singled out the teams to pick. Now we'll see how the AAC reacts and what the suits do to "compensate" the AAC.

In USF's case it's more like "what have you done for me lately?". They have been pretty lousy in both football and men's bball in recent years
