Do you really think GP would sign with SMU? That might be a little harsh on his ego. Plus, like him or not, He is a very good coach and did big things at TCU. Unless he wants to stay in the Metro-Plex, I think he will get a HC opp (a good one ... maybe not a FL or SEC), now that the hammer is dropping on many. Hey, he already won a Rose Bowl, USC is still trying to fill their spot.

Not a big Herman fan ... not the X's-n-O's, the person. I can still see him mocking the the opposing QB's TD strut along the UT sideline in the closing seconds of the Alamo Bowl a few years back when UT won it. Not just mocking it, but embellishing it. Classless IMO.

Marc Engel has a story saying we may be leaning toward Rhett Lashlee to replace Dykes. If that happens we need to spend big on Def. Coordinator. I have not been impressed with Leavitt.

Imagine Coach Prime dancing on the sidelines with our players when we beat TCU and Sonny dressed in purple with a sour look on his face standing on the visitor sidelines as the clock winds down to zero. Coach Prime will bring more fans (and more diverse fans), better recruits and more media attention. If we can improve the quality of our players even slightly from our talent level today, we have a decent shot to go undefeated with our schedule. Once they expand the playoffs to 8-12 teams (supposedly relatively soon), even if we are in a crappy conference we will be in the top 8-12 and will get a chance to compete for a championship.

Coach Prime has zero skins on the wall in recruiting.

Lashlee doesn't have a lot of head coaching experience. This job requires experience. If he absolutely loves SMU and regrets leaving, then maybe. But I am very wary of bringing someone in who lacks experience.

Herman is brash, like CM was. He isn't a good personality fit.

I think Lashlee is a logical and smart choice. I'd be on board for his return. However, SMU needs aggressive leadership in the athletic department. I say empty the offices and get some go-getters installed. We've been treading water for waaaay too long.
