Looks like he's starting tonight for the WFT against the Eagles. Missing All pro Guard Sheriff. And a 4th string center. Expect him to be handing off alot.

From QB-turned-analyst Mark Sanchez:
"I've got to say: Garrett Gilbert, 9 of 13 when he has been with the team for three days ... he's going to need another great half for Washington to come away with a win."

Gilbert finishes 20-31 for 194 yards, no TDs and no INTs and did get sacked twice. Mostly dink and dunks and only 2 completions of more than 20 yards, but a pretty good performance on very short notice

He didn't have a lot of time with Shereff out and a 5th string center and the Eagles controlling the ball forever.

True! He deserves a merit badge for living through it.

He also deserves another start, but it sounds like they're going back to Heinicke this week.

Heineke has earned some time. Last night he was awful, but so was the offensive line, the defense, and pretty much every facet of the game was bad. Heineke was hit a dozen times, including one helmet leading hit to the chest (unflagged), but he got up and played. I would not have wanted to have Gilbert subjected to the beat down Heineke endured. On the other hand, he was slow in his reads, too short to get passes with any pace over linemen (hence the pick six), and was simply not ready for what hit him. Kudos to the Cowboys for taking advantage of Washington's holes, they were many.

They sure were. A quarterback would have to run like Lamar Jackson to stay alive behind that garbage line.
