He handled the Dykes question well. Interesting he said that Dykes wants to see SMU succeed. I also liked that he spent his first period here, recruiting our players.

Of course Dykes said he wants SMU to succeed.

Sonny is a lifelong SMU fan who grew up cheering the Pony Express, cheering for the Mustangs in their miracle win against TTech, loves our school, loves Dallas, wants to make a lasting impact here, why Sonny would never leave…..oh wait a moment. Well at least he’ll leave with dignity…oh a wait another moment. Well, ok, maybe he did leave and maybe it wasn’t under the best of circumstances, but in his heart of hearts he does want us to succeed, why he’d never poach our recruits or existing players…..

Sure, Sonny wants us to succeed…..surrrrre

Maybe against Lamar next season.

Dykes' "secret plan" is to go to TCU and vote SMU into the Big 12 when another expansion comes and then return to SMU since he has always been a fan.
