SMU is set to hire Rice director of recruiting Alex Brown to become the program’s director of scouting, multiple sources told The Dallas Morning News.

Brown has worked at Rice as the director of recruiting and as an NFL liaison since 2019. Before that, he spent four years at Houston working in recruiting. More at DallasNews.com

He is very, very highly regarded as a talent evaluator. I didn't know about him up front, but the people in the know are really impressed with the hire.
