For all the talk about the AAC as P6, don't sleep on the SunBelt. With App State winning at A$M, Marshall winning at Notre Dame and Georgia Southern winning at Nebraska...that's more skins on the wall for them. Old Dominion beat Va Tech last week, Georgia State scared UNC yesterday, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana and James Madison are all pretty good.

Time for SMU to step up these next 2 weeks to represent the AAC. Even our "top" programs all lost their games vs P5 teams

interesting- SMU and Tulane are the only two schools undefeated in the AAC.

We will really need to step up our pass D. Memphis and UH looked pretty strong in their passing game.

No joke. I've said on another message board we should have looked at App State and Possibly Marshall, but, ya know, schools in big TV markets that nobody cares about.

On another note, Buffalo, who played Maryland respectfully last week, lost at home to Holy Cross on a Hail Mary yesterday:

Tulane is going to be competitive this year. They hung big numbers on admittedly inferior opponents but I expect them to be tough on their home field in conference play.

App State is invested in their football program and has been competitive for years. The same can be said for Marshall. SBC has several competitive programs and Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, Louisiana, Georgia Southern and James Madison are all up and coming programs. AAC clearly gambled on "metro" teams but Charlotte has been horrible and Rice is Rice. Maryland pretty much had their way with UNCC yesterday, but so has everyone the Niners have played this year, including future conference mate FAU.

SMU needs to take care of business and prove we are legitimate these next 3 weeks

Texas, Houston, notre Dame, and a&m all lost, and we won. Great day.

If that wasn't weird enough, Kansas is 2-0 - KANSAS?!?!?!?!

Houston is in a battle right now with Kansas tied early 2Q. Kansas is looking pretty decent this year. Their coach leipold has worked wonders. Houston will have to be worn out after starting the season with an overtime victory and loss and now a tough one with Kansas.

Cinci had 3 early turnovers vs Miami OH but prevailed

Agreed.

They have the ball on the State side of the field with under 6:30 to go.

And Tulane gets the three-and-out and the ball back with 2 minutes left. Let's see if they can close it out.
