Yes! Tulane winning 27-24 @ Cincinnati is big! Good job Green Wave sending Cincy out with that loss. Now go win the AAC Championship!!

That's the core of the problem. No one at SMU thinks peaking at 5th in the AAC is a problem. Low pressure, low accountability, low results...but lots of excuses!

Admissions and our majors are not sport friendly!
FIXED.
we get 5th place.

We don't have an Indoor practice facility!
FIXED.
we get 5th place.

Dallas is not behind us!
Mayor Johnson publicly supports us on a consistent basis.
we get 5th place.

Exactly why some of us no longer are engaged after 30 years for support, and finally gave up season tickets in football and basketball after having them literally for decades.

UTSA is hosting again a conference championship for the 2nd year in a row, 21 and 4 over last 25 games, and averaging almost 30,000 in attendance per game. For a program only around like 15 years total. Whatever conference in we need to strive for that level of success.

I understand lesser conference argument and not equal comparison, and obviously merit there, but we needed Hail Mary to beat La Tech and UTSA wiped them easy again and missing 6 starters that game. At some point have to consistently be top 2 or 3 in the AAC. This 5th place in the AAC should not be acceptable if serious about winning.

If we couldn’t go to conference championship, I’m glad to see Tulane go. Eff Cincy and UH.

Although I agree with your premise, wasn't Orsini the one who "did not want" Larry Brown because he was "washed up" and wasn't it Turner who actually overruled him? I might be mis-rembering

Yes that was my understanding as well. He wanted to hire Rick Majerus or someone?

I think the end-of-Orsini era (including his firing) helped get RGT more on board with a lot of things athletics. That gives me hope. What's that quote... the best time to do something was 20 years ago, the second best time is now. I have faith that RGT is in now mode.

UTSA blew out UNT in the CUSA Championship Game 48-27. Jeff Traylor has put together a pretty solid team down there and those guys will be a tough out in the AAC next year

I got excited watching Utah crush USC in the 2nd half last night and thought: what happens if KSU, LSU & Purdue all win today? Who might be the Final Four in that scenario? Obviously would depend on how competitive the games might be but the expanded CFP can't come soon enough for me!

K-State up 28-20 midway through 4th quarter. They could put together a time consuming scoring drive on this next possession and put this game away. TCU has a "must stop" situation right now
