Gameday Experience

Hopefully  the school is doing everything possible to prepare for the crowds this coming weekend. I can remember some of our previous big games at Ford (Baylor, Ags come to mind) where we were clearly not with long lines to get into the stadium and even longer lines at concessions (many of which ran out of supplies early).

This game will likely have many fans attending their first game at Ford and we need to do everything possible to ensure a good experience so they will come back again.

Fyi... after the game the tailgate spots will be sparse. Smu is letting the rental company evacuate when the games starts.

So tv.s, rented chairs, tables will be gone. Big time right!

Call someone if you know a wig at smu.

Does anybody go back out there after the game? I was always disappointed that folks didn’t. Especially with early games.

Is it incompetency or trying to save money?

A not politically correct take but accurate. We have these stations usually staffed by volunteers from XYZ church, organization, etc. I assume some of the proceeds of sakes go to said organization. This is an honorable endeavor.

However, it is an absolute disaster for customer service. And yesterday it was a true public safety issue. People were collapsing due to the heat and they could not get water.

You wanted water or anything, wait a literal hour. The line we chose had two 60+ year old women from a local church as the servers. I admire them for their service. But understandably, not terribly efficient.

This stuff is more suited to high school games and reflects very poorly on SMU if we actually intend to take the next step. If SMU wants to support the various organizations that volunteer then let them put up a sign and then give them proceeds from the sales. Perhaps one volunteer bolstered by 3rd party professionals.

Especially when you know damn well you have an enormous crowd coming. And it was a literal health and safety issue yesterday.

My guest and I left at halftime because we didn't feel like standing in line all halftime or longer to get a cold drink.

Whats up with the game clock? Didn't it go out last season too?
