My expectation is that this team finishes 5-3 and limps into a bowl game at 7-5 but might need to go 4-2 in Ford for that to happen. Will be a big challenge with Navy, Cincy, Houston & Memphis at home this year. Finishing 6-6 would not shock me but I still think this team is good enough to have a winning record in AAC play.

Legitimate Goals for SMU entering the season were playing in a AAC Championship game, being AAC Champions, & playing in a NY6 game.

The rest, such as Frisco Bowl vs Fenway Bowl vs Boca Raton Bowl pales in comparison.

Our odds of achieving our Legitimate Goals have diminished since game 1.

At a minimum, THE MOMENT winning the AAC becomes unrealistic, Preston Stone should get every snap at QB. I don’t care the outcomes, although i think he can handle things quite well. We simply need more of Preston Stone.

TM and 7-5 and the Myrtle Beach Bowl vs PS 5-7 and no bowl game???? I’ll take Preston and the experience he gains…truth is i think Preston can get us to Frisco, at a minimum.

I agree with SoCal Pony. Time for Preston Stone era TM has seen the top of the mountain;no higher for him to go.

SMU lost to two very good football teams. Maryland is obviously for real. TCU had slipped on defense with no QB play, and the new coordinator fixed the defense and Duggan is way better.

We are way better than Navy, Tulsa, Tulane, and South Florida. So, yes, we will make a bowl game. The question is whether we can not beat ourselves against UCF, Houston, Cincy, and Memphis. The first of those teams that we beat, this think will start rolling. The question is how long it takes to happen.

Tulsa is one of those teams that gives us trouble at home no matter what. I don't think we've won in Tulsa in the last 13 years? Yes we "should" beat them, BUT. Just sayin

Tulsa and Tulane will both be really tough road games. Both are very competitive

Haven't seen Tulsa, but Tulane is much-improved.
Yes, we'll make a bowl.

I just hope the bowl game we go to has quality concession stands with efficient lines and lots of options to choose from :-)

Please not the Frisco bowl. If we get to a bowl game we deserve something better than a 20 mile drive to the north.

SMU football continues to be the apotheosis of mediocrity and the pinnacle of futility. It looks like they will probably squeak out a 6-6 record and get the invite to the Toe Nail Fungus Bowl in Apia, Samoa on the day after Thanksgiving (2:00 a.m. CST) and get bulldozed by the Ruptured Wombats of the Quasi-Occidental Institute of Vacuum Cleaner Repair.
