SMU VS UCF MOVED AGAIN WEDNESDAY

Source: UCF’s home game against SMU will be moved to Wednesday Oct. 5 because of Hurricane Ian. Both schools have a bye next weekend. The game will be played Wednesday night. It had been re-scheduled for Sunday.

Since both teams have byes next week, this makes sense.

I like this change. Wednesday night would give us national visibility with no competitive. Plus, we get to heal with a few more days before we play.

I just had a law partner fly in this morning from Jacksonville. He said things are pretty smooth in Northeastern Florida. Orlando is central and still has some flooding. Ian is heading my way now. Outer bands due to hit DC in about 30 minutes.

Outer bands hitting us in Charlotte. Close to tropical storm winds and lots of rain causing low lying areas to flood with several roads having to be closed. Good day to hunker down. Hit the grocery this a.m. and there was a run on beer and chips/snacks, but we are well stocked and ready for some football and baseball watching.

Like the idea of a Wednesday game. As previously noted, gives our guys another couple days to lick their wounds and still time to prepare for Navy. Also puts the game on ESPN2 for a national audience. I guess I will pull for Tulane tonight vs Houston but will probably be watching Judge's pursuit of 62 as much as that game

But, but, but don't forget that Maris "eclipsed"
Babe Ruth's 34 year old home run record in his 162'nd game. The Babe did his in a 154 game season. So Roger had eight more games to plan in than Ruth. So should there be an asterisk somewhere?

the baseball league expanded and the pitching quality was diluted. Ruth didn't have cross country travel nor night games. Roger Marris’s * was infamous and a crime. It was removed 7 years after his death. The two that broke Marris’s record were duggies. Arron Judge is clean.

I grew up in Gainesville Florida and Rodger Maris got the Local Budweiser distribution business after he finished his career with the Cardinals. Big lawsuit after he died as kids did not retain the deal
