Sonny was lucky. He came into TCU with a bunch of Patterson recruits. They are fast, tough and don't give up.

Based upon the Tulane game it would seem so...at least on defense.

Luck is the religion of the lazy...Sonny has done a good job with a team that underperformed last year. TCU is fortunate, and has made the plays in order to stay in games and undefeated. My hope is that they have hit their ceiling, but I don't see Iowa State doing anything but keeping it close at best.

FWIW, our November swoon is not based on the coach...it seems it is endemic to SMU football. THAT seems to be the one constant to me...

late season swoon = scheduling luck and lack of depth. We have beaten every team that we are better than. The UCF and Tulane game we underperformed in losses, and Houston we overperformed in a win.
