Lashlee gambles for 2 when we had scored the last 13 points, and they were playing a first time QB who had thrown 2 passes, an incompletion, and an interception in the second half. Incredibly stupid, and possibly panicky. Maybe he was just getting cold, and wanted to go inside.

Disagree. It was the right call. We just lost.

agreed.
And it would have been great to beat THEM on the last play...by one...but alas.

Hero ball did not quite have the distance.

Fantastic experience overall at the New Mexico Bowl.

Glad to see as many Ponies travel as they did. Obviously we all knew BYU would have more, but I felt like we held our own and were pretty loud most of the night.

Interception for a score by BYU when were going in to take the lead just...extremely frustrating. Throw in the 4th down and 1/2 call that was set up and Tanner just panicked with pressure....game was absolutely there for the taking and didn't need to get to that 2 point conversion point.

Loved the call to go for it. Absolutely hated the play call.

Lots of learning lessons for the new staff in year 1. Give him time. I'm excited to see where they take us. Happy these seniors were finally absolutely to get into an actual bowl game after all the drama of the last couple of seasons.

New AAC is there for the taking. Outside of the Tulane game and the 2nd half of the UCF game, this season has been extremely competitive. Couple plays go a different way, we could be looking at a different season than just 7-6. But going to stay positive heading into the off season.

It seems a bit unfair to suggest Mordecai panicked. He was scrambling around to find an open receiver. Do that and then bring in defensive pressure, and it's normal — vital — that he runs for his life. Sometimes the other guy can run, too.
I'll focus instead on the fact that he broke the TD passes record in 2 years. That's unbelievable.

Another football season in the books and another season of of the holy trinity of SMU athletics: mediocrity, futility and irrelevance.
Now on to basketball where only futility and irrelevance remain; mediocrity having become unattainable.

I see the troll keeps posting but I am not going to unblock him. I guess he is praising how the team rallied and how it was the smart call to go for 2 at the end  .
