What about Mike Ford who was instrumental in getting SMU noticed when Ron Meyer came aboard and scheduled road games at Florida, Penn State and Ohio State in the same season. Ford helped SMU go 1-1-1 on that road trip

This was definitely not '66 - '67 as I would have been 14-15 then. This was when I was 9 or 10, so '61- '62 range.

By '66-67 the 'Boys were a playoff team and wore white. I think they started wearing white pretty early on in the franchise's history. I remember going to games in the early 60's and watching the Giants, Skins, Eagles, Browns, Cardinals, etc...coming to Dallas to play in the Cotton Bowl wearing their familiar colors. That was part of Tex Schramm's marketing plan to garner interest in the program because they stunk so bad in those early years. Dad would buy a $5 endzone ticket and could bring 5 kids free so we went to every home game
