With construction commenced in early December, does anyone know if SMU has a construction cam trained on the project?

They have been posting pictures from the past couple of weeks.

I drive by most days. They’ve taken out a lot more than I’d imagined they would, particularly on the southeast side of the property.

Has anything been communicated regarding the expected seating capacity for the endzone project?

It's interesting how fast they're building this after dragging their feet on the IPC for a decade.

Here would be my wishes; with the stadium expansion plans, NIL and positive trends in recruiting and the transfer portal, several recent winning seasons, and especially PAC 12 rumors, it's hard not to be optimistic about the future of SMU football. Here's hoping the Athletic Dept will fully realize the potential as well, by improving Ford Stadium amenities to attract the casual and new, visiting football fans. We may never have an 80,000 capacity stadium, but I'm hoping we could market Ford as the best small stadium venue in the country. Just some suggestions might be, but not limited to, concourse fans and cooling stations for hot weather days, plenty of shade inside and outside of the stadium for visitors who don't have a tailgate spot, such as along the promenade leading to the Doak statue, inside flat-screen TV's that work, national or name-brand concessions inside and just outside the stadium (no more room for food trucks inside ?), wi-fi upgrades if necessary, etc. Just some thoughts..

The best small stadium concept will be Northwestern, which will tear down Ryan Stadium and completely build a new 35K amenity rich environment, filled with high tech. The one feature I wish we could consider is a canopy. Like ours, their field stadium will be open air and serve as a entertainment center and venue.

Can I get odds on us playing our September games at Highland Park HS?

I think we would just play with a short field and respot the ball as necessary during drives.

Now the tv cameras will show even more empty seats during kick offs, extra points and field goals. Recruits want to play in front of a supportive fan base that shows up on Saturdays. Why take away the hill where students loved to congregate?
