I think my wife and I are going to do the Temple game this fall. For those who have been up there, could you offer some advice? Is the stadium on the campus or nearby? Are there hotels that won't kill us financially near the stadium?
Thanks,

They play their games at Lincoln Financial Field same field at the Philadelphia Eagles.
No hotels in that area.
I would look for hotels in the historic section, so area Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. A safe area.
Philadelphia only has two subway lines. you can walk to the subway line at City Hall and take it right to the stadium. You really can't get lost because there are only two lines.
Use citymapper app, which is free. I have used it in NYC, Boston, SFO, Seattle. it's great

Now. walk down South Street near the area I suggested for a hotel. If you are old enough this song is about South Street in Philly

I have had a cannoli in many cities and the absolute best cannoli ever is at
https://www.termini.com/
they have a branch in reading terminal market walking distance to the area I recommend for a hotel.
For their main bakery, you would need a car.

Cheese steaks. there are two original.

https://www.genosteaks.com/

they are almost across the street from one another.
get it with cheesewiz.
John Kerry, while running for president, got his cheesesteak with Swiss. cost him the election.

Northeast cities are dividend by ethnic cultures. South Philly is Italian. Rocky Balboa stuff.
Go to

cash only, the real deal. It's on 9th street where Rocky was running through the vegetable market stands.

I lived in Philly 5 years; wife is from Philly. Philly is a great city and you can have a wonderful time.
My daughter has already commanded that she and I go to the game. See you there.

Temple plays in Lincoln Financial Field, where the Eagles play. So the stadium is nice. You'll have plenty of room, since NFL stadiums are huge and Temple's crowd ... isn't.

It's about 10 miles from campus. There's tons to do in Philly, including historical (Liberty Bell, etc.), other sports (the NBA's Fighting Shake Miltons, Flyers, etc.), museums, etc. Great restaurants, and lots of them — and not just cheesesteaks, although that's mandatory (don't go to Geno's and Pat's, which are probably the most well known. But there are better ones: https://www.visitphilly.com/articles/ph ... /#cleavers )
