Pour one out…

For Wazzu and Oregon State and in a different way SDSU. Sucks to end up on the wrong side of this nonsense.

Wazzu and OSU benefited for many years and yet didn’t spend as much as SMU, UH, Cinci or perhaps Memphis.

Have to think what happened to OSU & WSU was a factor in NC State's flipping on UNC to make this happen. They know the heels would stab them in the back in a NY minute

I think Oregon State in particular has invested. And Cal … hasn’t. A lot of this is not based in fairness.

I agree. The Beavers were hurt the most. I would love it if they won the PAC-12 this year. They have a team and coach capable of beating anyone in that conference.

Yup! My Dad went to Oregon State his first 2 years, and finished up his last 2 at SMU in 1950. When I was in school remember seeing us lose to Oregon State in the Cotton Bowl around 1976 the year I graduated.
May the forth be with us.

Oregon State has invested quite a bit and had success in baseball. SMU has invested in operating expenses which can be determined between conference funds and athletic budget.

Cal has invested more than most P5 programs in recent upgrades. They're still paying on their 2012 stadium upgrades.

https://www.berkeleyside.org/2012/08/27 ... renovation
In August 2012, "UC Berkeley unveiled a newly renovated Memorial Stadium, the result of more than 30 years of planning, $321 million in pledged funding, many feats of seismic engineering, and 21 months of construction."

Of note, Cal tried to balance its athletics budget but G5 schools like SMU and UH put in $20MM of university student fees or unrestricted endowment funds to cover budget shortfalls.

My wife’s family is all OSU, father-in-law very proud of them like many of us and SMU. I feel bad for them. They’re getting screwed. And yet, better them than us!

With the conference dissolving I doubt there are any exit fees.

Yes, there are none. I bet they can keep the rights to the NCAA MBB credits though, including any earned this year. Maybe bowl money too.
