Most Significant day in SMU history?

Postby smuhype » Fri Sep 01, 2023 2:46 pm

Might I suggest this is the most significant day for ANY SMU hardcore fan regardless of age?

Hope the Hilltop is buzzing tomorrow!

Hard to top National Championships even though they weren't settled via playoffs in those eras

Obviously very negative, but I would say the death penalty being handed down is the most significant day. This is certainly the best day since. And natiochampionships are amazing. But there’s only one DP and it ruined us for decades so I’d say it’s very significant….

Just sayin

I never thought this day would happen. To all of the hard core SMU Mustangs fans who kept the fire alive, Congrats! This is well deserved.

The breakup of the old Southwest Conference was that start of our decline. 28 years later we have begun to recover our football playing status.

For me, its certainly the best day since we beat Pitt in the Cotton Bowl. At that moment, before the AP voters screwed it all up, we were the best team in the country. And I STILL believe we were the best that year.

No doubt I am very excited.
