Win out and people will notice although that loss to TCU looks worse and worse

If we somehow end the season tp 25 then it will be considered an absolute success.

Also, win over LA Tech looking worse. Announcers are still shouting "Smoke Harris!" every drive while the fighting Sonny's get steamrolled at 3-6.

Another lopsided win and we lost 2 votes in the Coaches poll. I guess we need to score 100 to get some respect. Beat Rice!

Surprising they have us ranked higher than TCU but the frogs are a different team without Morris playing out of his mind like he did against us

Tulane lost to Ole Miss by the same 17 points that we lost by to both OU & TCU but they've played a much tougher AAC schedule than SMU has with wins @ Memphis and @ Rice and wins vs UAB and UNT in New Orleans. We will have the opportunity to win at both Rice and Memphis and beat UNT at Ford so there will be that for comparison purposes by year end.

So…..nobody, and they are playing the same trash schedule we are. That tcu loss is looking pretty bad though. And how fun is it to say that tcu is bringing down our SOS.

The ranking/rating systems, and especially the human voters, need to do a much better job of adjusting their view of results based on the strength of the opponent at the time the game was played. The TCU that beat SMU was a much better team than the Toads are now. The Kansas that beat Duke last year was a much better team before TCU injured their starting QB a week or two later and tanked their season. Duke was a much better team until our starting QB got hurt late against ND.

But I'm not convinced the voters really even pay much attention. If SMU FB keeps winning, we might need to resurrect the basketball effort of 8-10 years ago to track down stupid/ignorant voters who were failing to rank the MBB Mustangs and pestering them.

We're now entering November, our bad month. Let's prove we can win out in November and then we'll have something to brag about. Rice is a good team and will really challenge our defense. If we can stop them cold and Tulane didn't, then we'll have a good comparison.
