Extra tickets for Rice game?

Postby Meadowsman » Mon Oct 23, 2023 5:01 pm

Able to head down to the Rice game and need to get tickets now. Didn’t buy earlier and haven’t heard back from SMU on buying yet. Anyone have 2 they want to sell?

I purchased 3 on the 40 over the phone from the Rice Ticket office today. Ask for Blake - he’s awesome.

When you buy from the opponent's allotment, are you supporting them rather than SMU? I'm not sure how that works, but pretty sure you could buy a ticket at Ford on gameday and find a seat in Ford between the 30's on the visitor side. That won't change unless/until SMU garners enough community interest to consistently pack Ford. I just haven't seen it from our students & alumni since I was a student in the 70's. We've always relied on our visitors to bring large numbers and I certainly wouldn't expect that from Rice. I doubt any of our future ACC opponents will help, either. We've seen how a good product can pack Moody but 30k vs 7k attendance is a very different challenge for Ford

You don’t think that when we play Norte Dame they won’t bring a large fan base?

The only reason we purchased through the Rice ticket office was because we called SMU Monday afternoon (after the game time announcement) and they had not received their ticket allotment (mind you the game was less than two weeks away).

Also, because we have a large group going and we wanted to sit in two rows in front and behind each other.

Rice accommodated us in the SMU section. Otherwise, we certainly would of purchased through our ticket office.
