As expected, first announcement of "protected matchups" includes the preview that SMU and the California schools will be tied together. Not a surprise. I'm actually sort of surprised for others that (1) the 4 NC schools are all protected together and (2) that Georgia Tech, which has been an ACC member for nearly 50 years, has *no* protected matchups. Ga Tech and Duke played annually from the late 1930s until divisions were eliminated this year, but they couldn't protect a fifth Duke matchup and it really isn't that big a rivalry, as historic as it is. But Ga Tech-Clemson is one I expected to see.

Next year is awesome with FSU. 2025 is solid with the U. 2026 with Southern schools like UVA and Wake. 2027 with Clemson and VA Tech.

Next year is huge to fill up the Weber EZ seating.

Hi Indianmustang, glad to see that Pitt will be playing SMU in Dallas next year. We plan on making the trip south and I’ll definitely be coming back here closer to time for recommendations.

As for Notre Dame: they have separate scheduling agreement with the ACC (five opponents per season) and are not included in this scheduling model. I’d imagine SMU will be playing the Irish at some point, and I’d bet that a separate model with their revised “conference schedule” will come out at a later date.

Neither UNC nor Clemson play any of new three teams next year. FSU gets Cal at home (easy) and travels to Dallas (good for recruiting).

I get what you're saying, but the game I'm curious about is F$U at SMU. F$U will want that game moved to JerryWorld. I really hope we don't move it.
