The game we probably should have not scheduled was OU. Replace OU with a cupcake and we are sitting at 9-1 and ranked in all polls, including the CFP.

10-1, but otherwise yes, exactly. Would have been nice to play the Toads without Chandler Morris as well, versus the Toads with him; or if the poll voters took such things into account. Sink Navy.

Simple financials. Home game without the commitment of a return visit

No...we need to play in Norman to get OU to come to Ford later...but OU might try to buy out of that game if we get better than we are now. SEC teams like to schedule cupcake games in their non-conference

Anyone remember the LA Olympics? Dan Marino's Dolphins in the Super Bowl? The Reagan-Mondale debates?

I believe we had a last minute empty out of conference spot to fill because the UNT game became a conference game.

You can thank idiots like Don Williams from Lubbock/tech who not only does not have us ranked at all (historically has never given SMU any credibility - even during LB Basketball days), but the idiot has the tamu aggies ranked #25. Stupid stunts like this should have his voting rights withdrawn.

Preston now vs. Preston is September would have made that game a W. We were not out matched by OU
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Agree that Preston is better. Oline is better as well and Dline. This is now a team and all are better. Let's keep winning and see where this team goes. It is a good time to be a Mustang!

Thankfully (I think), the AP is irrelevant and all that really matters is the CFP rankings (which will be updated this evening).

Your boy Don has all P5 teams.

The CFP Selection Commitee has 13 members, and two of those worked at SMU;
1) Mitch Barnhart, 1983-1986
2) Gene Taylor, 1985-1986

The rest have some AAC/ACC and Big 12 (Previously AAC) experience:
1) Jim Grobe attended UVA, and Coached at Wake Forest and Baylor
2) Chet Gladchuk, the AD at USNA was previously AD at University of Houston, Tulane, Syracuse and Boston College. He attended Boston College.
3) Boo Corrigan, the AD at NC State was previously at FSU, Duke and Notre Dame where he went to school.
4) Rod West attended Notre Dame and Tulane
5) Mark Harlan was AD at USF
6) David Sayler worked at Rice and Houston

Liberty!?! Bottom line = we must beat Navy and hope to play Tulane and then beat them, our only shot at a New Years Six.

Sagarin is the only computer ranking I trust. Otherwise it's egghead land.
