According to the incredibly bad announcers SMU won't jump Liberty if we won't win.

“Incredibly bad” might be an understatement.

NM State is soft af. Their QB went out with some mystery elbow injury after a 75yd medium pass (25yd) & TD run.

Then the backup QB comes in and is pretty good. Threw a ball in the endzone and the WR let the DB just take the ball away from him and he just laid their on the ground hugging the ball weakly instead of wrestling for the ball. They just want this to be over.

Is the Committee really OK with a defense like what LIBERTY has going up against the likes of Florida St or UT or Ohio St?

Credit where credit is due though...that Liberty QB Salter is a one man wrecking crew. Head and shoulders above any other player on the field last night. He accounted for almost 500 of Liberty's over 700 yards of offense in that game!

I hope this is the case. Recent Athletic report has projected us to the Peach Bowl…from their keyboard to the CFP’s ears. They have us playing Perv State, which given their anemic offense would be a good match for us.

They suspect SMU will end up ranked higher than Liberty even though they are undefeated due to their weak schedule. As everyone saw from the telecast, Liberty strength of schedule is a joke.

Liberty is DEAD LAST in strength of schedule. Not bottom-third -- DEAD LAST. 133 out of 133.

Seems like the announcers on ABC thought SMU should get the NY6 bid above Liberty. I don't have the foggiest idea what the committee will do, but I don't trust them to get any of this right.

Ideally, there would be a 16 team playoff: 10 (for now) conference Champs + 6 wildcards. That would allow the SMUs and Libertys of the NCAA to prove it on the field and make the Alabamas and Michigans of the NCAA prove it too.

No question we should be in the Jan 1 bowl. No question the NCAA has screwed us for 2-3 generations. We head to Frisco. Quality of completion means nothing when the NCAA can screw the usual scapegoat. Sucks but reality.

it looks like liberty will get the slot according to espn
Liberty's win moves the Flames to 13-0 and likely assures them a New Year's Six bid after Tulane's loss to SMU, while head coach Jamie Chadwell is now 44-6 since the start of 2020.

Heather Dinich has a say? Brett Ok State that talked crap about our move up
to the power 5? Neither has a vote.

A bit premature. Wait.

SMU beat a 9-3 Memphis team on the road and then won the conference championship by beating a top-20 on the road.

Liberty didn't play a single P5 team.

SMU and Tulane both should be ahead of Liberty.

These ESPN reporters are terrible at sports analytics, but maybe they have it right with regard to the CFP committee because they are very good at politics, and that’s what the CFP is, it’s good ol’ fashion politics. How can they leave FSU out as an undefeated ACC champ by not having them top 4, but then give credit to Liberty for being undefeated with the weakest schedule in all FBS football. I fear the same politics may apply tomorrow and the NCAA will find a way to stick it to us once again.

If they followed their own FPI, they would know how ridiculous it is to compare Liberty to SMU. We would trash them by at least three touchdowns with Jennings as a starter in only his second game.
