Definitely a short-term job. That program will implode before the middle of the season. Rent, don't buy, Khenon. Talk about a dumpster fire.

I really don't know too much about Baylor football other than that they were bad last year. Didn't watch them a single time this season. Is there some special problem they have?

SMU wasn't in his top 3 just a few days ago. This tells you everything you need to know about just how "devastating" our CFP snub was.

Makes no sense. A ton more money?

JM#2 is coming back for his last year and put on twit/X he was going to be the #1 recruiter now. Here’s to hoping these kids want to play for their city.

Maybe some former H.S. or Stanford teammates via the portal?

So we lost a coach for the exact same position to Baylor? Seems odd. Our upward trajectory is way better. Was it money? He doesn’t seem like someone we’d give the boot!

This is the big fear to me. We can find someone to coach running backs, but he has done a masterful job recruiting South Dallas, Duncanville, DeSoto, etc. We have got to find someone with similar charisma and connections.

Word is he's getting assistant head coach added to his title. I assume that includes a fat chunk of change, and for that I'm happy for Coach Hall, but it is a promotion, too. Hopefully for him, that will counter the fact that he has to live in Waco.

Unless he was paid more , this seems like a step down for me (all things considered, trajectory of the two programs, Dallas vs Waco, etc). Unless it was to a program in the SEC or B10, this is a step down.

"unless he was paid more". My guess is you answered your own question. Also, maybe the asst HC title.
