If there's a way, they do it.

Apparently, the conferences must vote unanimously to add SMU to the Power 5 CFP distribution monies. Which begs the question, suppose we by some mysterious voodoo win the ACC next year, would we not get money from the CFP if we played in the CFP and would they be able to televise the game without paying us?

I know nothing about the dynamics of this, but its interesting that BYU, UCF, Cincy, and UH apparently were granted a share of the revenues. So why is this now suddenly a big issue when SMU joins?

Seems like Calstan would be in the same boat.

CalStan were already in a Power Five Conference.

No, it's a G5 to P5 issue so Cal and Stanford are not in the same boat. It would be very arbitrary to exclude SMU given that BYU, UH, UC and UCF were granted the full allotment.

I would almost bet the Big XII dropped the blackball.

But the SEC is the only one quoted. Could be either or both.

I believe the presidents will do the right thing, at least I hope they do. Really don’t see how they can justify adding 3 last year and excluding us this year. We shall see, and I hope SMU is prepared to fight if we are excluded.

This certainly indicates that there won't be another G5 to P5 move for a very long time. SMU appears to have jumped into the final remaining chair right as the music stopped.

I have often heard that President Turner is well respected amongst his peers and has a ton of connections in that world. No idea how this will go, but I hope he can help prevail upon his fellow presidents to do the right thing.

Arbitrary indeed.

It is another shot at the ACC. The desire is to either kill the ACC as they did the Pac, or else weaken the ACC more than they weakened the Big 12.

Presidents like ADs are taking orders from Disney/ESPN and Fox.

The 'it' is Disney/ESPN and Fox. That pair are determined to see the ACC killed or gravel weakened, permanently. This is another blow to make clear to the ACC that is has no power to resist the evil globalist media companies.
