For all the Sonny bashing that goes on in this forum, I expect he's content to be at TCU as long as they will have him. He's already taken them to Championship games where of course he's gone 0-2 but I don't see his career going anywhere but down if he wears out his welcome at TCU. If he is able to build that program up to the point where they return to the CFP, he'll be as popular as Patterson. Sonny shouldn't even be mentioned in a thread talking about who might succeed Saban. Probably an impossible act to follow. Can you tell me off the top of your head who succeeded Darrel Royal? Frank Broyles? Woody Hayes? Bo Schembechler? Tough gig following a legend

You don’t want to be the guy that follows THE guy.

Who was the coach after Tom Landry, or QB after Staubach?

My brain says Craig Morton on QB, but maybe he followed Dandy Don.

Looks like DeBoer of Washington is going to be the next Alabama head coach.

This unfortunate for Washington. They seem to do things the right way, it is a beautiful destination, and I like DeBoer. Going to Alabama diminishes college football more ... if that is possible.

With Big 10 money, Washington will have plenty of candidates willing to go after that job.

It's not surprising that Bama and Washington players announced immediately that they're putting their names into the transfer portal, but DeBoer has work to do: Georgia just stole CBs coach Travaris Robinson, who also was one of the Tide's top recruiters.

You can probably safely assume that any players with DFW roots (that we may have recruited and missed out on when they came out of H.S.) enter the portal now because of coaching changes, our coaches will be in touch with them and hope they can bring them home to finish their careers playing in the ACC in front of family and friends
