testing the market? Competition in the era of NIL has gone beyond what anyone could have imagined. As a small private school, we are more dependent on our BMDs than ever to be competitive

Disappointing. Thought he would be definite lock to start next year and be showcased in the ACC. Is it just about the NIL money?

Does this make Jakai Clark the starter?

Maybe he wants to transfer and go to Lubbock. Then live out his life away from his family in McKinney. Could be family issue. Could be girl issue, or grade issue.
Never know at this age.

SMU and Dallas are pretty sweet!

Or time to move on. Dallas is a pretty small place relatively speaking. Maybe he
wants another opportunity at a larger school. Unlikely it was a grade issue. Jesuit
grad. One of the metroplexes elite college prep high schools. Sorry to see him leave
but such is life. Good luck and well wishes to the young man.

Or he could be looking for a graduate program SMU doesn't offer? Plenty of possibilities and we can speculate all day long but if he leaves he will be missed and it will give this coaching staff a position to fill. Whatever happens, he's demonstrated he's a player who should garner some NIL money

Ya, I gather the Center position is kinda important. This is a bit of a bummer.

Ouch. Hate losing players to that "school".

Thought I read somewhere that Arkansas may be interested in him.

Based on the way Lashlee raved about him, I'd think a lot of teams would be very interested.
Just ... not ... FW ...

Looking at Justin Osborne at center during spring ball is interesting. Between Osborne and Clark it might be easy to say goodbye to Hickman
