The University of Hawaii football team announced three new members being added to their coaching staff ahead of the 2024 season.

Head Coach Timmy Chang unveiled on Friday that Dennis Thurman, Dan Morrison and Jeff Reinebold will join the Braddahhood next season.

Thurman, who has more than 35 years of coaching experience and was most recently the defensive quality control director at Colorado, will step in as defensive coordinator. Last year’s DC Jacob Yoro will now coach the safeties.

Morrison is set to become the team’s quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator and returns to the program after serving an advisory role last season. He was also the team’s quarterback coach from 1999 to 2007.

Another reunion sees Jeff Reinebold return as defensive line coach. Reinebold was the director of player development in the 2022 season and served as D-line coach from 2006 to 2007.

Other coaching moves includes Chris Brown who will also be the associate head coach in 2024.

The moves come after former offensive coordinator Ian Shoemaker, defensive line coach Eti Ena and cornerbacks coach Steve Irvin were not retained at the end of the 2023 season.
