SMU Opens Season At Nevada; Completes 2024 Schedule
DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU Football team announced the addition of Nevada to the 2024 season schedule on Thursday.
The Mustangs will take on the Wolfpack in the season opener in Reno on Aug. 24, giving them a week 0 contest for the upcoming season.
With the addition of Nevada, SMU has finalized its 12-game regular-season schedule for the year.
The Mustangs will play one weeknight game in the upcoming year, a non-conference game against BYU at home on Friday, Sept. 6, bunched in-between the home opener against HCU (Aug. 31) and 103rd edition of the "Battle for the Iron Skillet" against TCU (Sept. 21).
SMU begins its inaugural Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) eight-game schedule with a home contest on Family Weekend against Florida State on Sept. 28. The Mustangs hit the road for three straight after that with games at Louisville (Oct. 5), Stanford (Oct. 19) and Duke (Oct. 26) to wrap up the month of October.
November opens with home games against Pitt (Nov. 2, Homecoming) and Boston College (Nov. 16). The Mustangs head back on the road for its final away game at Virginia (Nov. 23) before the home finale against Cal on Nov. 30
Times and TV information for all games are TBD and will be announced as they become available.
