SMU x ACC - Join The July 1 Celebration

DALLAS – Join the SMU community as we celebrate SMU's first day as an official member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) on Monday, July 1, 2024. Be part of this historic moment as we mark the beginning of this new era for SMU. Pony Up!

The day will include a public event at The Happiest Hour from 4:30-6:30 p.m., SMU partners running specials to celebrate the move, Peruna's new conference mates visiting for the celebration and the ACC Network broadcasting from Dallas. The day will conclude with the Dallas skyline lighting up in SMU colors to celebrate Dallas' team officially joining the ACC.

SMU supporters are encouraged to wear red and blue that day and can join the celebration in person or follow along on social media and the ACC Network.

Celebration of SMU's first day in the ACC at The Happiest Hour
Join SMU alumni, parents, students and supporters at The Happiest Hour (2616 Olive Street, Dallas, TX 75201) from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Admission is complimentary and includes drink specials and SMU swag (online registration is preferred). The ACC Network will broadcast live from the event, including interviews with SMU and ACC leaders as well as SMU Head Coaches. Peruna is also hosting the ACC mascots as part of the celebration.

ACC Network Programming
ACC Network will feature special programming to celebrate SMU's first day in the ACC, including live coverage of the celebration at The Happiest Hour from ACCN's signature studio show ACC PM.

Peruna's Party
Peruna is hosting the other ACC mascots as part of the celebration in Dallas. Keep an eye out for them as they visit sites on the SMU campus and major landmarks in DFW. They will wrap up the day at Klyde Warren Park and the SMU celebration at The Happiest Hour.

The Mustangs Are Coming
The SMU Athletics' social channels are posting a series of 2023-24 accomplishments and historical milestones leading up to the first day in the ACC.
SMU had a program-record 8 CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS in 2023-24!
SMU student-athletes won 28 EVENT CONFERENCE TITLES in 2023-24!
SMU had 10 COACHES / STAFFS OF THE YEAR in 2023-24!
SMU had 15 TEAMS IN THE POSTSEASON in 2023-24!
SMU had 9 teams finish in the TOP 35 of the NCAA or National Rankings in 2023-24!
SMU student-athletes earned 109 ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS in 2023-24!
SMU had an 81.1% HOME WINNING PERCENTAGE in 2023-24!
SMU claimed 13 PLAYER OF THE YEAR honors in 2023-24!
SMU student-athletes earned 20 ALL-AMERICA Honors in 2023-24!
SMU has won 213 TEAM CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Light Up Dallas
From 7:30 p.m. to midnight, the Dallas skyline will light up in SMU colors to celebrate the move to the ACC.

Sounds fun and I have never been to Happiest Hour.

Change the orange and red to Mustang Red and Blue!!!

Did you all get an email today about registering for the Monday ACC party?

I did and went to register. Event says "registration is closed" but walk ups might be able to enter.

Great to get a day one sell out.

Not going to drive and hour for a maybe.
