Craig Swann strikes again
Posted: Sun Sep 09, 2001 6:32 pmAll of you who don't tip realize what you've got in Craig Swann as a color analyst are missing out. The man is awesome. His small-town Texas flavor gives the game a nice sound over the radio, and his passion for the Ponies is unmatched.
But listening last night on the internet, I heard him offer up the line of the year. After Page hit Cunningham with the late touchdown pass, SMU got a substitution fouled up on the extra point and had to call a timeout. Rich Phillips said something "why would you call a timeout on an extra point?"
Swann: "Didn't like what they saw."
On an extra point?????
I know a guy who was in the press box, and he told me he looked througgh the window to the radio booth and that during the commercial, the crew was falling apart with laughter.
Craig, whatever routine you do to get ready for games, keep it up. MAJOR props to you for your work with the broadcast. You know your stuff and you're the best color guy that not enough people know about.
