Strength and Athleticism

Postby MustangMatt » Tue Aug 01, 2000 3:36 am

Many people have been wondering who is the strongest and who is the best athlete on the football team.

Well, PonyFans.com and SMU's Strength and Conditioning department met, and put together some stats for PonyFans.

No actual statistics have been released, just the indexes. We listed the top 25 in strength and performance (Athleticism), descending from the strongest/most athletic. These are calculated in relation to body weight, so it gives a precise ranking of the best.

Kevin Aldridge was the most improved, in both categories, since the last testing in 99.

We have attached a brief synopsis of how these indexes are calculated. If you have any further questions, please ask them.

We would be happy to answer your questions, and we really want to hear your thoughts. If we get a lot of positive feedback, this might be a reoccurring feature!

These charts can be found on the Table of Contents in the “Check it Out” section.

That is a cool feature. Very interesting to see how the players rank against each other. I would love to see another chart when they do the testing again.

I am a lot more excited that KA has been moved to DE, he might be another Luke Johnson!

I love this type of information! This is just the kind of stuff that sets this site apart from the rest and makes it a joy to visit.

Keep up the good work!
