Matt Joeckel will be one of the more highly recruited QBs in the state, if not the nation. Kid will be a good one.

His brother Luke is a very good OL prospect as well.

After reading the article on Carter, I would give him the edge if he is comparable to other QBs in the class based on his love of SMU and desire to see the program succeed. I hope June makes him the offer! The article is well worth the read:

You are right, Gilbert is a 2009 recruit.

Question, on kickers. With all the recruiting our soccer team does and all the guys who try to walk onto the soccer team, wouldn't it be wise to try and get a few of those guys to try out for kicker on the football team and save a scholarship.

Unless they were a walk on, the scholarship would be counted against the FB team. I would guess (and that is all it would be) that a walk on soccer player would not be the best option for a football kicker.

It could however free up a soccer scholie.
